The Alpha Course
Would you like to ‘strengthen existing faith’ , ‘learn more about Christianity’, ‘make new friends’, ‘meet new people’, ‘enjoy time sharing good food’.
Then why not join us on our next Alpha Course! Our next Alpha Course begins on Monday 2nd March 2020, and it lasts for 6 weeks.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal, fun and friendly environment. The Alpha course consists of a series of talks, looking at topics including ‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why and how do I pray?’ with the option of a day away. We start with a simple meal at 7pm and then a talk followed by discussion in small groups.
The course is free but many of those attending make a donation towards the cost of materials and food.
The course is designed primarily for people who aren’t churchgoers although from experience we have found that it is also a good refresher for those who do attend church regularly. The course is open to everyone who would like to come along. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome. Please bring a friend.
This is a six week course, with the option of a day away, about Christianity. Join us for an interesting and not too intense opportunity to explore the meaning of the Christian faith. You don’t have to come to the whole course – just pop along for the first night and see what you think. No pressure.
An Alpha evening starts at 7.00pm with a simple meal, followed by a talk / video on a topic such as ‘Who is Jesus?’ ‘Why did Jesus die?’ Then there is time in small groups to discuss questions arising from the talk / video or any other issue finishing about 9.00pm.
